Sacred Music
From Christianity’s roots in the worship and song of ancient Israel, music has been woven into the life of prayer. Psalms have been sung, Scripture chanted, and communities gathered around voices joined in praise, lament, thanksgiving, and silence.
The Order of Sacred Creation seeks to cultivate this living tradition, with a particular commitment to recovering and teaching plainchant and other forms of sung prayer. We approach chant not as a relic of the past, but as an embodied spiritual practice—one that joins breath, voice, body, Scripture, and prayer.
Through singing together, we connect with generations of Christians who have prayed these same texts before us while learning to attend more deeply to the words we speak now. Chant slows us down. It asks us to breathe, listen, and become present—to God, to one another, and to the prayer carried in our own bodies.
Here you will find music, teaching resources, psalm tones, chants, and other tools intended to make the Church’s sung prayer more accessible.

Veni Creator Spiritus
Veni, Creator Spiritus is the official hymn of the Order of Sacred Creation. In this metrical translation by our co-founder Trent, we sing the ancient hymn Come, Creator Spirit at every service of the Order. This setting presents the hymn in clear, modern musical notation, making it easy to learn, chant, and pray together.
